End & beginning are inseparable
December as a time of transition
This time last year, 2020, I was in the middle of it: I had decided to dissolve both my practice and my apartment in Wiesbaden by the end of the year and set up my ‘base camp’ in Cyprus. So a big end – and a big beginning at the same time …
I can well remember the feeling that lay somewhere between excitement, tension, insecurity, anticipation, thrill – like just before a stage performance or like back then at university before the exams, paired with the feeling from childhood, when it’s about to start with the big trip off on vacation.
At the same time, however, there was also a sense of regret that a really good phase of my life, which was very important for a number of reasons, was now coming to an end. And sometimes there was also a quiet uncertainty about what might come if I now give up my familiar, beloved nest, in which I knew everything so well after five years.
So it’s a roller coaster of emotions – with everything in it: anticipation of a new beginning and regret at the end of a phase of life. An exciting mixture! And once again proof that you can’t have one without the other. That every coin has its two sides. That there are always the two poles. That one is also in the other. And that the energy always moves between the two poles.
It reminds me of the Taoist principle of yin and yang, and especially of the associated symbol, which shows so wonderfully that everything is subject to the principle of polarity. This is only one of the seven cosmic laws, which I am currently dealing with more intensively, as I am in the process of writing a small, fine e-book about it, a spiritual mini-guidebook for everyday life. It will be great, so you can be curious …
The end and the beginning – an inseparable pair. In the time in between, feelings often alternate back and forth between anticipation of the new and regret about what is now coming to an end. It is helpful if you consciously shape this transition from one state to the other.
The beginning in the end
I find that there is hope in this thought that everything is connected. And the chance to let go more easily, to start again with more confidence, because: Beginning and end are quasi one. And both are natural expressions of an ever-recurring cycle. This knowledge reassures me. Nothing is for eternity and everything is constantly changing.
Even the death as the final end is from my point of view the beginning of my life in the hereafter; thus indeed the end of my physical existence as Sabine, however the beginning of my being in the not embodied form. At least I have perceived it also with my near-death experience in such a way.
This idea is also in Alpha and Omega, which are not only the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, but also a symbol of beginning and end, and thus of the all-embracing, of God and especially of Christ as the First and the Last. Alpha and omega (Α and Ω) are a frequently found motif in the monograms of Christ.
A central experience from the countless Reiki coachings of the last years since I founded my practice in 2004 is: If we accept physical death as well as birth as a fact of earthly life and learn to surrender to the cycle of becoming and passing, then our quality of life also increases. Without fear, life is more carefree, more joyful and above all freer and more intense – when we recognize the beginning in the end. Perhaps this will be a comfort to you on those days that feel like a minor.

The design of the transition is important!
Even if we know about the eternal return of the seasons and months, we were surprised once again: Once again, the end of the year is suddenly here. Once again, the new year is somehow much too early before the door – so much actually wanted to be done and so much actually wanted to be prepared … 😉
End and beginning. These two are actually attributed to January, which is named after Janus, the god of the beginning and the end, and who can look into the past and into the future with his two faces. For me, however, it is December that stands for this – or rather: it stands for this phase in between, this ‘no man’s land’ between end and beginning, this transitional period in which everything is possible, everything can and can be realigned – and which is therefore so important.
The variety of possibilities how to create a transition or transition times, I find – also energetically – very exciting! One knows this proverb “get up with the left foot”, which means that the start into the day determines its remaining course as well as our mood.
Rituals help in these times because they allow our minds to be mindful and direct the energy of the moment in the desired direction. They also give support and direction in these uncertain times, when you have the familiar behind you and the unknown ahead. The firecrackers on New Year’s Eve, for example, originally had the purpose, through the noise, of driving away evil spirits in the uncertain time of transition.
Beginning, end and transition – so to speak all three aspects in one – are for me in ‘my’ consecration night, which I celebrate on the evening of the winter solstice. Background is the Celtic cycle of the year, into which I will introduce you on 22.12.2021, when we experience together the rebirth of the light energetically.
Back to your roots is what I call the meditation cycle, in which I will guide you throughout the next year by means of live guided meditations into the special energy of the individual yearly cycle festivals – lived spirituality for people with little meditation experience or also for meditation experienced people to train their intuitive perception ability.

They also give support and direction in these uncertain times, orientation in the ‘no man’s land’ where one has the familiar behind and the unknown ahead.
The custom of giving
The custom of giving gifts to each other at Christmas was probably first introduced by Martin Luther in the 16th century. Some also write that these symbolize in the Christian tradition a thanksgiving for the gift of God, that is, the birth of Christ. Or that they want to remind of the gifts of the three wise men from the east. Originally, it was probably not the Christ Child but St. Nicholas who brought small gifts, for example nuts and fruit, on December 6. By the way, here in Cyprus, where Christmas is celebrated later and differently due to the Greek Orthodox religious background, you can now also see this illuminated Santa Claus made of plastic … 😉
Its role model is St. Nicholas, who lived in the Turkish city of Myra in the 4th century. According to legend, he not only had a big heart, but also gave concrete help through a gift. He is said to have saved three poor sisters from a miserable life by secretly placing gold-plated apples on their windowsill at night.
I would also like to offer concrete help, because experience shows that the emotional pressure increases strongly in many people the closer we get to the Christmas holidays; accordingly, the requests to me also pile up. In this very special year 2021 for all of us, I therefore make a very special offer, the Christmas Reiki Coaching at a special price.
A HEARTfelt THANK YOU to YOU
Many of you now celebrate the so-called Twelfthtide. Few know that you can connect Reiki quite wonderfully with this ritual cycle. Therefore, I would like to give you a special gift this year, namely the Reiki Twelfthtide ritual.
Hier kannst Du das Reiki-Here you can download the Reiki Twelfthtide Ritual, yay!
A good end means a good beginning
I would like to give you an exercise that you can use to make the transition well:
Two of the most exciting and far-reaching questions I know are:
- What do I want to leave behind in the old year?
- What do I want to take with me into the new year?
Have you ever asked yourself?
- It is best to write down the answers on two different pieces of paper.
- If you want, you can burn the piece of paper that contains the things you want to leave behind in a small ceremony outside. This way you also put a clear line under it.
- When it comes to big or difficult experiences, you can also support yourself with the meditation on letting go that I guide.
- You take the other piece of paper to your heart and put all the love into it that now wants to flow out of your heart. If you are a Reiki practitioner, you can also strengthen the energy flow with Reiki.
- And best of all, you take the list with what you want to take with you into the new year, every now and then to read it, to remember it and perhaps also to energize it…
Collect and remember the positive moments
And here I have another heartwarming and meaningful ritual to give you:
- In the course of the year, always write down the special, the joyful moments, the ones that touch your heart, the ones in which you were proud of yourself or courageous or especially loving or … on a piece of paper.
- Collect these highlights in a pretty glass or jar.
- At a special moment around the end of the year, you retreat, maybe light a candle and have a special drink, and then take time and space to review all the collected special moments of the year by reading them.
- And you’ll see: You’ll have at least double the pleasure! 🙂
The start of the new year is important!
A conscious, mindful beginning sends the energy in the right direction, where you want it to be: Into the creation of your dream life and wish everyday life in the new year. Whoo-hoo!
Because I know how important – also energetically – a good start of the year is, I would like to tell you some possibilities how you can create this.
A conscious, mindful beginning sends the energy in the right direction, where you want it to be: Into the creation of your dream life and wish everyday life in the new year. Whoo-hoo!
Like a blank sheet of paper, the new year lies before us: you have it in your hand, in your head and heart, how it can become.
- If you would like to be supported in this, I recommend a somewhat longer and more intensive process, the Spiriway. It serves to work on old patterns of thinking and behavior in depth, to transform them and thus create space for what you want to live in the future. You can also get this as a Christmas present – it makes more sense than thick socks, because it warms you from the inside… 😉
- If you feel that you simply need an impulse, a location determination and a guide, inspirations and messages from the spiritual world, then I recommend a Reiki-Remote, the remote energy transmission with aura reading and channeling, which is effective and far-reaching, deep and liberating and an almost unbelievable experience.
- If you want to go deeper into the art of consciously creating your dream life, you should take a look at the Creator’s Circle, the multi-week manifestation training for creating your dream life, which we start with in the new year.
- Set yourself free! – is the title of the new offer at the new moon for a new beginning. By means of rituals developed and personally tested by me, we make ourselves empty, still. And we cleanse ourselves body-mind-soul system of disturbing patterns as well as hindering experiences, which are stored in us and which so far unconsciously affected our life.
- Especially in wild times like these, the Intervision Group for Reiki Masters, which will run as an annual group from January 2022, is almost a must … 😉
Stay gentle and strong!
I wish you that you can use December and its energy well for you. I am happy to be there for you and am available to you with advice and action, both in individual sessions as well as in the various group offers – you can find the dates in December in the overview.
